If this is halal why does it have ethanol in it.
the ethanol is used in the cooking process probably to kill bacteria however due to its flammable nature it is probably burned away and also is used in small amounts so you needn’t worry

My family believe that ethanol is haram so does that mean i cant eat the heatwave doritos?
In this particular case, the ethanol will be halal due to the miniscule amount.
But the ethanol wouldnt ve halal because it is an alcohol product. Thats like saying we can eat food that contains pork if it has a miniscule amount
Drinking ethanol would be dangerous to someone who actively drinks alcoholic drinks. I believe the small amounts of ethanol added are burned off during the cooking process. The difference with pork is that it wont be burned off during the cooking process. In short, you will only be ‘intoxicated’ from the addictive taste of Doritos, not from any Alcohol. 😸

I saw another reference (https://www.mathabah.org/are-doritos-nacho-chips-halal/) about Doritos’s Nacho Cheese flavour being haram. Can you share if the factor mentioned in the link was considered by you folks?
Salam according to the info supplied in the link, that product will be haram. However Doritos are manufactured in the UK also and they do not contain any animal product.

In one tweet to naz doritos confirmed the cheese doritos are not halal.
